Ingredients:
- 4 cups cubed donuts assorted flavors
- 2 cups whole milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup raisins optional
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts walnuts or pecans
- For Rum Sauce:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons dark rum
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
Set the oven to 350F 175C and heat it up
Mix the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl with a whisk
Add the cubed donuts to the mix and mix them in gently until they are well covered
Wait ten minutes
Add the chopped nuts, raisins, and melted butter and mix well
Put the mixture in a baking dish that has been greased
Put it in the oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the middle is set
Make the rum sauce while the pudding is baking
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat
Put in some salt, heavy cream, and brown sugar
Keep stirring the mixture until the sugar melts and it gets thicker
Take the pan off the heat and add the dark rum
Pour the warm rum sauce over the bread pudding when its done
Warm up the donut bread pudding and serve it
